PJ Pocket / Pyjama Pocket Fluorite Specimen – Diana Maria Mine, Weardale

A beautiful flat fluorite specimen from the PJ Pocket, also known as the Pyjama Pocket, at the famous Diana Maria Mine in Frosterley, Weardale, County Durham.

This piece has a lovely low, displayable form, with a bed of green fluorite crystals sitting across a natural matrix base. The fluorite shows soft green to blue-green tones, with areas of translucency, darker internal zoning and delicate cubic growth across the surface. The crystal faces catch the light beautifully, revealing layered formation, subtle sparkle and the natural texture that makes Weardale fluorite so collectable.

The Pyjama Pocket is also known for its daylight UV reaction, adding an extra point of interest for collectors who enjoy fluorite with unusual visual qualities. This makes the piece especially appealing for those drawn to UK fluorite, named pockets and specimens with a little extra character.

This specimen sits fairly flat, making it ideal for display in a cabinet, on a shelf, altar, desk, geology collection or crystal display. It has a beautiful balance of raw mineral structure and visible crystal formation, making it a lovely choice for both collectors and crystal lovers.

Fluorite is often associated with clarity, focus, energetic cleansing and mental organisation. Many people choose it for study spaces, meditation areas, crystal displays, spiritual work or simply for its natural mineral beauty.
