Big Whopper Pocket Raw Fluorite – Diana Maria Mine, Weardale
A beautiful raw piece of green fluorite from the Big Whopper Pocket at the famous Diana Maria Mine in Frosterley, Weardale, County Durham.
These raw fluorite pieces come directly from the Diana Maria Mine and are a lovely way to own a genuine piece of UK fluorite from a named pocket and vein. Each piece is approximately around the size of a 10p coin, with natural variation in shape, colour, clarity and formation.
Big Whopper Pocket fluorite is characterised by its rich green tones, with some pieces showing areas of translucency, natural cubic structure, darker internal zoning, stepped growth and earthy mineral texture. As these are raw pieces, they may have rough edges, natural chips, inclusions and surface markings, giving each one its own unique geological character.
This material comes from the River Catcher Vein and was discovered in January 2025, making it a great choice for fluorite lovers, crystal collectors, geology enthusiasts, or anyone wanting a small but meaningful piece of Weardale fluorite.
Fluorite is often associated with clarity, focus, energetic cleansing and mental organisation. Many people choose it for study spaces, meditation areas, crystal grids, altar displays or simply as a beautiful addition to a mineral collection.
